Tuning Fork Density Meter WPX301

Tuning fork density meter WPX301 works based on the principle of component vibration, and the portion of the tuning fork submerged in the measured liquid is the component part. Vibration is produced by the tuning fork component using an internal piezoelectric device that is fixed at the fork body’s bottom end. A secondary piezoelectric device positioned at the opposite end of the fork body detects the oscillation frequency, and the circuit on top amplifies the signal. When the measured liquid flows, the vibration frequency and the liquid’s density are strongly correlated. The vibration frequency while the liquid flows varies in tandem with changes in the measured liquid’s density.

The WPX 301 tuning fork densitometer can measure max 150 ℃ static or flowing liquids with high accuracy, when the site pipeline is too narrow, we can also offer the  expansion device for auxiliary installation, which provides the suitable conditions for the tuning fork density meter measuring, this expansion can reduce the high rate of the fluids for stability measuring as well.

Does the WPX301 tuning fork density meter change in response to the flow rate?

The WPX301 tuning  densitometer is affected by the flow rate, so before installation, the user should verify the parameters including the measuring pipe’s diameter and flow rate.When the flow rate surpasses 1 m/s, the user is required to install the diameter enlargement. For every 1 m increase in flow rate, the diameter of the pipeline with the density meter installed increases by 1.5 times. It is required that the oil density meter’s outflow end have a minimum of 300mm of straight pipe. Through this process, the fluid passes through the fork in a “laminar state”.
