Parts:

Magnetostrictive Liquid Level Sensor is composed of Stainless Steel Tube (measurement rod), Magnetostrictive Wire (waveguide wire), Movable Float (with permanent magnet inside) and other parts.

Working Principle:

A pulse electromagnetic field is created around the waveguide wire while the magnetostrictive liquid level sensor is functioning. This is caused by the circuit component stimulating a pulse current on the waveguide wire.

When the liquid level changes, a float located outside the sensor rod can travel up and down along the rod. Inside the float is a collection of permanent magnetic rings. The magnetic field surrounding the float changes as the pulse current magnetic field collides with the magnetic ring magnetic field produced by the float. This causes the waveguide wire constructed of magnetostrictive material to produce a torsional wave pulse at the float’s location. This pulse travels at a set pace. The inspection agency passes back and detects the waveguide wire. The position of the liquid surface, or the float, can be determined by measuring the time difference between the pulse current and the torsion wave.
