Capacitance Point Level Switch-WPX600

The air inside the tank acts as one electrode, and the probe of capacitance point level switch acts as another electrode. The change in the dielectric constant of the air and the measured medium between the two electrodes is captured by the switch, which then switches the output signal to achieve high and low liquid level control and alarm.

Capacitance Point Level Switch VS Tuning Fork Level Switch

Different Working Principle:

  • Capacitive liquid level switches rely on changes in capacitance between the probe and the tank to determine the liquid level.
  • Tuning fork switches rely on high-frequency vibrations of the fork  to detect the level by observing changes in damping when the liquid contacts the fork body.

Differences In Media Compatibility:

  • Capacitance Point‑Level Switch:Benefits with viscous, high‑viscosity and deposit‑prone media: Thanks to its smooth conical probe, scaling and material accumulation are greatly reduced. This prevents mis‑detections over extended service when handling sauces, molasses, high‑viscosity oils and slurries.
  • Vibration fork level switches: Stable measurement of liquids, powders, and particles, but high-viscosity slurries and easily crystallizing media can cause the fork to stick, leading to false alarms.
